Marco · Plans With Friends

1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Marco (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Marco is a social planning app: a map where people share plans with friends, respond to each other’s plans, and discover public events created by other users and verified organizers. Marco is a tool for making plans — the plans themselves, and everything that happens at them, belong to the people who make them.
The Service is the Marco iOS app together with our website, letsmarco.com — plan pages you open from a shared link, public event listings, and the organizer console are all part of it.
You can browse public plans without an account. Creating, joining, or responding to plans requires one.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Marco. If your country requires a higher age for consenting to data processing, that higher age applies. Some events on Marco are age-restricted by their host or by law; meeting Marco’s minimum age does not entitle you to attend them.
4. Your account
- One account per person, created through Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google
- You are responsible for what happens through your account and for keeping your device secure
- Provide accurate information; impersonating another person or organisation is grounds for removal
5. Handles and names
Your handle is your public address on Marco. It is unique, you may change it, and it appears in your profile link and anywhere you appear in the app. Handles that impersonate someone, mislead about who you are, or are chosen to abuse or harass may be reclaimed or removed.
Adding your real name is optional. If you do provide one, it must be your own and it must be accurate. Hosts may require real names for events where they check identity at the door; if you give a name for that purpose and it does not match your identification, the host may refuse you entry, and that is between you and the host.
Do not use another person’s name, and do not give a false name to gain entry to an age-restricted or identity-checked event.
6. Your content
Plans, event details, statuses, photos, and everything else you post remain yours. By posting, you grant us the licence needed to store your content and display it to the audience you chose — that is all we use it for. Delete your content or your account, and this licence ends with it.
You must have the right to post what you post — including any photograph you upload as event artwork.
7. Questions on a plan
You may ask a host a question about their plan, and a host may answer. Both are content and both are covered by the community rules below.
- A question is attached to the plan, not to the person, and ends when the plan does.
- Answering a question publishes it to everyone who can see the plan. Don’t put anything in a question you wouldn’t want that audience to read.
- Hosts are under no obligation to answer, and may switch questions off entirely.
- Using questions to harass, advertise, or contact someone who does not want to hear from you is a breach of these terms and may cost you your account.
8. Getting into a plan you weren’t invited to
A plan’s host decides who sees it. Where a host has allowed their plan to be passed on, someone holding the link may ask to join, and a guest who is already in may put someone forward.
- Asking is not joining. Until a host lets you in, you are not on the guest list and you do not see the plan’s time, address, notes, or who else is going — only its title, the day, and who is hosting.
- Only a host adds someone to a plan. A guest can propose; they cannot add, and they cannot remove anyone.
- A host may decline without giving a reason, and we do not tell you that you were declined. You may ask again.
- Repeatedly asking to join plans you are not welcome at is harassment under the community rules below.
9. Community rules
Marco exists so people can spend time together in the real world. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour:
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeting of individuals
- No illegal content, and no events organised for illegal purposes
- No sexual content involving minors, and no content that sexualises anyone
- No impersonation of people, venues, or organizers
- No spam, scraping, or attempts to disrupt the Service
How we enforce this. Every user can report a person or an event from inside the app, and can block any account. Venues and promoters can additionally be hidden from your map — a one-directional preference about taste, distinct from blocking a person, which is mutual and about safety. Blocking is account-level and works in both directions. We review reports within 24 hours and may remove content, revoke a verified seal, suspend an account, or terminate it permanently. Accounts terminated for abuse may not return.
10. Saying you’re inside
Checking in to a plan adds you to a count other people can see. It is a claim about where you are, so:
- Check in only where you actually are. Inflating a host’s count is a breach of these rules.
- Your own device checks that you are there. Marco asks your permission before your first check-in ever, and again before using your location. Your phone then compares its position against the plan’s location — a check-in attempted from too far away is refused, and one your device confirmed is recorded as confirmed.
- You can refuse Marco your location and still check in. Such a check-in is simply recorded as one Marco could not confirm, and the app says so.
- Your position never leaves your phone. The comparison happens on the device. Our servers receive only whether your device confirmed you were there — never your coordinates, and never a location history.
- Checking in somewhere new moves you. The plan you left keeps you for a short grace period and offers to keep you there if you are genuinely at both; if you do nothing, it lets you go quietly.
- You can undo a check-in at any time.
11. Events happen in the real world
Marco is a planning tool, not an event organiser, venue, or supervisor:
- Every event on Marco is created and run by its host — a user or an organizer — who alone is responsible for it, including its legality, safety, licensing, and the accuracy of what it says
- Attending anything you find on Marco is your own decision; use the judgment you’d use for any plan
- RSVP counts, attendance limits, waiting lists, and check-ins are informational and do not guarantee entry to anything
- A plan may run across several days; the host sets when it starts and when it ends
- A host may change or cancel a plan, including its location or its dates
- We are not a party to any arrangement between hosts and attendees
12. Two profiles, one person
One account may hold both a personal profile and an organizer profile. They share a login and nothing else.
- Each profile has its own name, handle and picture, and appears to other people as a separate identity. We do not tell anyone that two profiles belong to the same person.
- Plans, friends and check-ins belong to the profile that made them. Switching does not move them.
- The rules in these terms apply to both. A ban or suspension applies to the human being, not to one profile — you cannot use the other to get around it.
- Deleting your account deletes both.
13. Organizers and verification
The verified seal means we checked that an organizer is who they claim to be. It is not an endorsement of their events, and it is not a safety guarantee.
To apply, an organizer gives us contact details so we can carry out a verification call. Until that verification is complete, an organizer account cannot publish events. Verified organizers additionally agree to:
- Post only real events they genuinely operate, with accurate details
- Accept that their public events appear on the open web — on letsmarco.com and in search engines. This applies only to verified organizers’ public events; a person’s plan is never listed or indexed, whatever its visibility
- Hold whatever licences and permissions their events require
- Handle any attendee information they receive — including real names given for door checks — only for running that event, and in line with applicable data-protection law
- Accept that the seal can be revoked at our discretion
Organizers who download a list of their members may use it only to administer their own membership. They must keep it secure, must not disclose it to third parties, and must delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose.
14. Price, payments and tickets
Marco is currently free. When ticket sales launch — whether an organizer’s event or a neighbour’s five-euro barbecue — the host of a paid event acts as the seller; Marco facilitates the transaction through a certified payment provider and is not a party to the sale. Pricing, fees, and refund terms will be published before paid features go live, and nothing you have will silently become paid.
15. Intellectual property
The Marco app, name, design, and branding belong to LongShot Digital OÜ. Feedback you send us can be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
16. Availability
Marco is young software, provided “as is”. Features may change, break, or be discontinued. We work hard to keep the Service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
17. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature survive termination (6, 7, 11, 18, 19, 20) do so.
18. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Estonian law, LongShot Digital OÜ’s total liability for any claim arising from the Service is capped at the greater of €50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are, in particular, not liable for what occurs at events planned or discovered through Marco. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify LongShot Digital OÜ against claims arising from your content, your events, your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the Service.
20. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes are resolved by the courts of Tallinn, unless otherwise required by EU consumer-protection law. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
21. Apple App Store
Where you obtained Marco from Apple’s App Store, the following applies:
- This agreement is between you and LongShot Digital OÜ only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Marco or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Marco.
- If Marco fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Marco.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to Marco, including product liability, legal or regulatory non-compliance, and consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement or discharge of any third-party claim that Marco infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
22. Changes
If these terms materially change, we will notify users in the app and update the date at the top.
